Salt & Light: Everyday Discipleship
is the product of the efforts of Chris and Kathy Scruggs to bring personal discipleship training to their church and neighborhood. Salt & Light is a twenty-four week program that takes participants through a process of becoming a disciple of Christ, learning to share one's faith, growing as a disciple, and becoming a Disciple Maker.
Chris & Kathy will gladly help you implement the study via Skype, FaceTime, or a personal visit.
Authors
About Chris and Kathy
Chris is a pastor and an attorney. He has taught and published spiritual formation materials for a number of years. He is the primary author of this study and wrote the Training Topics. Kathy is an intercessor, dancer and musician; speaking Spanish, Italian and English. For nearly forty years they have led Bible studies together but this is the first published work they have written together.
Missouri, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio
Chris grew up in Missouri and moved to Texas for college, then law school. He and Kathy met at her home church in Houston. After 12 years of marriage they moved to Virginia, with their four children, where Chris attended seminary. God sent them to West Tennessee for 23 years, then home to Texas, specifically San Antonio and the Hill Country. In 2017-2019, Chris completed an interim pastorate in Ohio where the lessons of Salt & Light proved valuable in preparing a church for its new senior pastor.
